Non-surgical treatments are less invasive, faster, more affordable, and less painful then many forms of oral surgeries. One common type of non-surgical treatment is root canal therapy. During this procedure, a small amount of decay is removed from the root or nerve chamber of a tooth. After the tooth has been numbed and a small hole is drilled, the decay is removed and replaced with a sealant material. This prevents further decay, and helps keep the tooth healthy and functioning properly. Root canal therapy is often the only form of treatment needed to keep a tooth healthy and protect the underlying structure. Another type of non-surgical treatment is the placement of a crown. A crown is a custom-made cap that is placed over the entire tooth. Crowns are used to protect or restore a tooth that has become damaged, decayed, or weakened. A crown can also be used to improve a patient’s cosmetic appearance and help to bring back a natural, healthy look to the teeth. Non-surgical dental treatments also include the placement of dental fillings, the use of bridges or dentures, and the use of dental implants. Dental fillings or bonding materials are used to fill in gaps or gaps caused by decay and cavities. Bridges and dentures are used to replace missing teeth, and dental implants are used to replace missing roots of teeth. Non-surgical treatments are becoming increasingly popular amongst dentist and patients alike, not only do they get the same results as a surgical procedure but they also save time and money and require little to no recovery time.
