Title: Hybrid orthodontics: How to select and combine esthetic techniques
Abstract:
Nowadays, patients are increasingly demanding. They want treatment to be quick, without having to collaborate too much, and they also want to use aesthetic appliances. In my opinion, the most aesthetic appliances we can offer today are lingual braces and aligners. These two techniques offer advantages and disadvantages, and they must be carefully analyzed according to the type of patient and the malocclusion they present. Therefore, we will discuss why to use the hybrid orthodontic technique, that is, understand which is the best appliance, lingual or aligners, according to the biomechanical aspects of both techniques and how to apply the best of each in the shortest possible time, so that the patient receives the ideal treatment for their case. Two clinical cases will be discussed, one of skeletal class II and the other of skeletal class III, treated with lingual braces using the simplified technique and with In Office aligners and also Direct Printed Aligners.
