Title: How AI is helping dental teams worldwide reduce burnout and restore capacity
Abstract:
Burnout in dentistry is no longer driven by patient care — it is driven by the growing volume of administrative, documentation, financial, and operational demands placed on dental teams. Over the past decade, practices have added layers of technology, compliance requirements, and reporting expectations without removing work, leaving dentists and teams overwhelmed, reactive, and struggling to keep up.This course explores how practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and automation are helping dental practices reclaim time, reduce stress, and improve performance — without sacrificing quality of care or team culture. Attendees will learn how to distinguish between true A.I. (machine learning and computer vision) and advanced automation, and where each category delivers the greatest impact in a modern dental practice. Through real-world examples, this session examines how A.I. is currently being used to streamline clinical documentation, radiographic analysis, patient intake, insurance verification, marketing analytics, accounting, budgeting, and KPI tracking. Practices using these tools are reducing after-hours work, minimizing errors, improving consistency, and freeing team members to focus on higher-value work that improves both patient experience and profitability. Led by Kristie Kapp, RDH, CEO and Co-Founder of EBITDent, this course blends more than three decades of clinical, leadership, and practice management experience with a systems- based, data-driven approach. Having worked in nearly every role in dentistry — from dental assistant and hygienist to practice owner, consultant, and multi-location CEO — Kristie brings a practical, real-world perspective to technology adoption and operational improvement. Rather than presenting A.I. as a replacement for people, this session reframes it as a capacity-restoring tool that removes low-value work, reduces cognitive load, and supports healthier, more sustainable teams. Attendees will leave with a clear framework for evaluating A.I. solutions, identifying where burnout is being created in their own practices, and implementing smarter systems that replace chaos with clarity and overload with control.
