Title: Facial laser aesthetics in a dental office
Abstract:
The Fotona LightWalker AT-S dental platform utilizes two complementary laser wavelengths: Er:YAG and Nd:YAG. Due to their differing properties, the laser can effectively target both the skin's surface and deeper layers of the epidermis and dermis. The Er:YAG laser emits a wavelength optimally absorbed by water, resulting in minimal penetration depth. This makes Er:YAG ideal for procedures such as skin tone equalization, scar and stretch mark reduction, and wrinkle treatment. Conversely, the Nd:YAG laser penetrates deeper, inducing thermal effects that allow for effective treatment of vascular lesions and hair removal. Its strong disinfecting and bactericidal properties make Nd:YAG particularly suitable for treating acne and other skin conditions. Achieving optimal therapeutic effects requires adjusting pulse duration parameters for each procedure. Five different pulse modes are available for aesthetic medicine applications. Varying pulse length allows for different effects: very short, single pulses produce an ablative effect, while longer pulses achieve thermal effects. The combination of these complementary Er:YAG and Nd:YAG wavelengths, along with dedicated handpieces, enables highly effective treatments, including:
Er:YAG (2940nm):
* Laser peeling
* Facial resurfacing
* Non-ablative skin lifting
* Removal of skin lesions
* Reduction of acne scars
* Reduction of stretch marks
* Reduction of skin discoloration
* LipLase – non-invasive lip shaping
* SmoothEye
* Endolifting
* Removal of seborrheic warts
* Removal of viral warts
* Hair growth stimulation
* Treatment of snoring
Nd:YAG (1064nm):
* Treatment of acne vulgaris
* Treatment of rosacea
* Hair removal
* Photorejuvenation
* Treatment of vascular lesions of the lips
* Removal of ruby angiomas
* Treatment of telangiectasia
* Closure of capillaries
* Reduction of erythema
* Skin remodeling
