Title: Evolution of tooth loss and implants failure in individuals with periodontitis stages 2, 3 and 4. Follow-up at 20 years

Abstract:

The exhibition follows a line of clinical research with statistical analysis of the data obtained from two groups of patients with periodontal disease of different severity (Stages 2, 3 and 4). These study groups belong to private practice and public care services of the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Rosario, Argentina. The patients were observed over a period of 20 years, monitoring the survival of the teeth and osseointegrated implants. The analysis of the variables and risk factors involved in each study group and in particular cases, taking into account the compliance of individuals to the administered periodontal maintenance programs. Tooth loss, attachment loss, loss of masticatory and aesthetic function and failure of osseointegrated implants are exposed, as well as the percentage of implants with peri-implantitis processes in the different study groups.

Gustavo Feser studied at the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University of Rosario and graduated in 1994.

Specialist in Periodontics by the Argentine Society of Periodontology.
Author of research and clinical works in national and international journals.
Member of the Latin American Network for Community Research on Periodontal Diseases.
