Title: Implantology simplified by Cortical Implants

Abstract:

Rehabilitation of a resorbed edentulous jaws by placing implants is a challenging procedure. Although various bone augmentation procedures like ridge augmentation, sinus lift are in practice but it may lead to morbidity of donar’s site. In such cases cortical implants is a viable treatment option. These implants give support from basal bone area which usually remains free from the infection and less prone to resorption. Lot of patients remain untreated because of various problems like underlying medical conditions like diabetes etc or due to habits like smoking , which prevent ridge augmentation procedures. CORTICAL IMPLANTOLOGY can address such problems and gives a satisfactory solution to the most compromised patients. So cortical implants are the latest trend and future of dentistry in replacement of missing teeth. This lecture is to educate students and the dentists more about cortical implants and its benefits in the present scenario and its also a promising future for dentists.

Biography:

Dr Kavyashree G completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Government Dental College, Bangalore, Karnataka, India in 2015. She has pursuid Master of Dental Surgery in the speciality of Periodontics  in 2019 from Sharavathi Dental College, Karnataka, India. She has completed Implant fellowship course of IMPLANT and ESTHETIC DENTISTRY, NOBELBIOCARE’ and Piezosurgery workshop in Hard and soft tissue management. Presented 4 PAPERS AND 2 POSTERS in the national convention and conferences so far. She also gor the certificate of appreciation for the lecture delivered on ‘Epidemiology and prevalence of AIDS’ . At present she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Periodontics department in Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education , Siddhartha dental college, Karnataka.
